Why Smart People Fall for Stupid Ideas | Dr. Andrew K. Fox on Woke Culture

Hosted by

A.J. RICE

Show Notes

Willy Woke’s factory asks only one thing: accept whatever “truth” you’re served. But why do smart people keep ordering seconds?

Dr. Andrew K. Fox joins A.J. Rice on Dangerous Laughter for a sharp, irreverent conversation about woke culture, gender erasure, and the curious distance between having an education and exercising good judgment.

When does compassion become conformity? What happens when changing the language becomes a substitute for defending an argument? And why can people recognize manipulation everywhere except inside the ideas they applaud?

Fox, author of Truth in the Age of Applause: How Stupidity Is Ruining the American Dream, explores faith, identity, cultural pressure, and the increasingly awkward business of saying what you believe. Along the way, Rice brings the satire—and Willy Woke makes an appearance.

The vocabulary gets more sophisticated. Does the reasoning?

Listen to the full conversation, then decide: are we thinking for ourselves—or simply getting better at knowing when to clap?

[00:00:25] Speaker A: Left your sa. Day 8 the Emergency Destruct system is now activated. [00:01:14] Speaker C: The option to override detonation procedure has now expired. [00:01:20] Speaker A: The ship will automatically destruct in E minus one minute. [00:01:36] Speaker C: Welcome back to Dangerous laughter. I am A.J. rice. Always remember, our job here is to transform horror into humor. We've got a great guest, great show for you today. Always remember to also go to dangerous laughter.com dangerouslaughter.com you can follow us on X at Dangerous Laughs. You know, we got a big shot today. Big shot, Big shot. Priest, right? Big shot with the priest today. I mean, this guy. What, what a story. What an American story. It's a type of story that, you know, quite frankly, people around the world that they dream of coming to the United States should listen to my next dangerous guest could have stayed in the uk, but in and and become the Sheriff of Nottingham. Instead, he crossed an ocean to pursue his liberty in America. He is a professor, a priest, and owner of the finest beard in Texas. Fired for his Christian beliefs and vindicated in federal court. His new book, Truth in the Age of Applause. How Stupidity is Ruining the American Dream. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the star of Fox versus the city of Austin, Dr. Andrew Fox, everybody. Andrew Fox is in the house. What's going on, brother? How are you? [00:03:02] Speaker A: Good to be with you, A.J. what an introduction. [00:03:05] Speaker C: Hey, look, we, you know, we're trying to do it right here. We got you on. It's an honor, really. So one of the things I like to do is I like to talk about people's origin stories. And, you know, yours is unbelievable, right? And it begins in the uk, ends up where you're at now, which is in the Lone Star State because, you know, people see you weighing on all different types of issues. People obviously have to go out and get this book. It's an unbelievable book. You know, holidays are coming up. Go get 2, 3, 4. Tell us the origin story from your child, you know, from when you were a baby, you know, because I think it begins there, some of your formation all the way through to, you know, what brought you to the United States. And then we'll pick up from there. [00:03:48] Speaker A: You know, how you come into the world is how you engage in the world. And I was adopted. And so the rest of my life from being adopted has never been through the front door. It's always been through a window at the side. Never through resume, never through the official circles, but always through recommendation conversation where someone speaks your name in another room, where you're not. That's kind of been my life. And that's how I ended up in the United States. I was a parish pastor in the UK and through a set of connections and relationships, was invited to the east coast, where I preached in a number of churches and lectured. Then I was invited to be a interview for a prestigious church in New Jersey. They offered me the job. I. I turned it down. I didn't feel it was right. But in that same day, was invited to Washington State through again for a connection, and I was invited to interview for a pastoral position there. And as soon as the plane landed, I knew it was home. I cannot tell you anything different. It's a sense of vocation, a journey and adventure, a battle, a challenge. And there's no better place to live that out than the United States. That's what led me here. That's what's kept me here. And of course, we had the disastrous LBGTQ challenge in the city of Austin that ended up in my termination. [00:05:13] Speaker C: Yes, yes. So. But just for the record, here you could have grown up and been the Sheriff of Nottingham. You're born in Nottingham, England, right? So you're. You're adopted. You're found in Sherwood Forest by Friar Tuck. Is this. Does this sound right to you? Is this the story? [00:05:31] Speaker A: Let's say that just for the sake of embellishing the story, [00:05:36] Speaker C: maybe you. You know, considering you're a priest and a man of the cloth, I mean, you grew up and kind of become Friar Tuck to some degree, right? [00:05:44] Speaker A: Well, I think I'm a slimmer version of Friar Tuck, but I guess, yeah, [00:05:47] Speaker C: he was a little. [00:05:48] Speaker A: Yeah, he was thrown back with the. I guess I could hang out with Little John and Robin Hood for sure. [00:05:53] Speaker C: There you go. There. I'll be Will Scarlett. So you came in 99, though, and you've been here ever since, right? [00:06:01] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So I came in 99 on a religious workers visa and went through the whole process of immigration, you know, fingerprint and everything, background searches, and then shortly after that was 9, 11, and everything slowed down. [00:06:17] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:06:17] Speaker A: And everyone got visited by the FBI. So did I. And. Oh, absolutely. Yeah. It wasn't reported on the news, but everyone that wasn't a citizen, oh, they got a visit, and so did I. And then I became permanent residents. Then I became a citizen of the United States with my wife and three kids. So I've been through the process. I've been through the inside track, and of course, it's not a big leap from the UK to the US in many ways. But it was a significant move for us. And that's why, you know, the attraction of the freedoms we have here, you know, freedom of speech, freedom of press, all of those freedoms. You know, it was a wonderful. In other words, the United States was saying to me, welcome, live here, raise your kids here, worship your God here, keep the constitutional, criminal and civil law. If you don't, there'll be consequences for you, naturalized citizen and someone naturally born here. And I said, yeah, wonderful, great. And then it all came to a head in Austin where those civil rights were taken from me. [00:07:20] Speaker C: We're going to get into that. We're talking to Dr. Andrew Fox, his book Truth in the Age of Applause. How stupidity is ruining the American Dream. Let's talk about the American Dream. How high on the list the American Dream list was getting into a four year legal fight for an unpaid job. I mean, this, you know, you come here, you try to escape, you know, the, or a little bit of Orwellian tyranny probably. I mean, we see it now in the UK and you, you're, you're in Texas, which is supposed to be, you know, at least a top three freedom state in the United States, along with probably Florida and South Carolina, Tennessee and a few others. And you, you know, walk people through what happened because you're working with the fire department there. You're basically an unpaid volunteer that, well, [00:08:15] Speaker A: the whole idea of volunteerism is, look, you know, the country welcomed me in and I was earning a good income as clergy and various other things I was doing with the city. So, you know, this is my contribution back to the community. [00:08:28] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:08:28] Speaker A: And they, they did not have a chaplaincy program for 15 years. And the, the fire chief reached out and said, will you start a program for us? Well, it took me two years to earn my way in into that paramilitary organization. Quite frankly, AJ the more firefighters and first responders are polite to you, that means they don't like you. But the more insults and the more rudeness. [00:08:53] Speaker C: That's true. [00:08:54] Speaker A: Oh, then you are one of the boys you want. [00:08:57] Speaker C: Oh, absolutely. I'm from Philadelphia. That's all we do. You know, I call you all kinds of names to your face. [00:09:03] Speaker A: It's not a Sunday morning conversation. So I, I was thrilled with that kind of world. And after two years, my feet are under the table building the program. Imagine this. You're called out to an emergency and it's a car accident. It's a teenage girl, she was texting and driving. This is a real story. And I won't put dates or names on it for the obvious reasons. A real story, you go to the accident, lights are flashing everywhere, and the fire department find the girl in the front seat still holding a phone, but the poor girl's now decapitated and the firefighters have got to go find the head. It's, it's really tragic. And, and I would go with them. And then those firefighters, when they get off their shift, they've got to go home to their spouse, their boyfriend, their girlfriend, their kids, their dog, whatever. They got to take that with them. So my job as a priest was to help them detox the terrors of that day or that night, depending on where their shift was going on. So you're very intimately connected with 100%. And, and they've invested trust in you. And there are volumes of things that will go to the grave with me. But then I wrote a personal blog called Willy Woke and the Chocolate Factory, which I love. [00:10:21] Speaker C: Look, this is dangerous laughter we do satire here and Willy Woke and the Chocolate Factory is top notch stuff. So what, what tell us about Willy Woke. This is your personal blog that I had nothing. So you're on the, you're, you know, you're on Randy street, picking up heads in Austin and you know, you write a personal blog because the trans mafia and the bearded lady were sweeping the country. I, I, you know, and you weigh in on it as a Christian and as a conservative. Tell us what was in the blog and how the reactions rolled in. [00:10:56] Speaker A: Well, it was a, an intelligent blog for a start, with a sense of satire. And I started in Athens in the ancient world and explained how women were not part of that. And the men, quite frankly, they competed absolutely naked, which is not something you'd want to see because gravity is not very kind to a man when he's naked completing in sports. But I took it all the way through to 2016, where until that time there was always more men competing than women. 2016, there's an equal amount in the Olympics, and it was a time to celebrate that. But from 2016, the Olympic Committee started to introduce trans into sport. These are men pretending to be women competing against women as a woman. And my conclusion was it's another insult against the beauty and wonder of what God created in a woman. And so I concluded the whole blog with, look, we've now got Paralympics for those that are physically impaired. Let's just have trans Olympics, to use your phrase, let's have men in beards competing against men in beards. And so it was a reasonable blog. Well, LBGTQ got hold of it. And they pressurize the city to immediately get rid of me unless I write a letter, an open letter of apology, Christian beliefs to the city of Austin. Now, look, you and I know in life there are many battles you got to walk away from. You just got to walk away. It's not sure, but there are some battles where it's going to carve the rest of your life out. [00:12:34] Speaker C: Absolutely. [00:12:35] Speaker A: And so I said, no, not a chance. I found that all the attorneys in Austin were bound by the city of Austin with some small contract and some small print saying, if you sue us, you're going to lose this contract. [00:12:48] Speaker C: That's right. [00:12:48] Speaker A: So I spent months looking for someone till one old boy, about 3, 000 years old. This attorney in Austin, he said, have you tried the alliance defending Freedom? I called them, blah, blah, blah, and they took on my case. Yeah, Customer fortune. They underscored everything. But after four years, the city said, we can't win. We just can't win. So they settled with me. There was some punitive damages, AJ but the main thing was for them to write a letter that I still have in my filing cabinet. And it's this that Andrew Fox has full, complete the blessing of the first Amendment, freedom to speak what he wants. We were wrong to tell him that he couldn't and that the Christian voice matters. It took four hours of mediation between my attorneys and theirs to write one paragraph. [00:13:41] Speaker C: You know what? You should frame that, though. I mean, that's. Yeah, you should frame it because. And they had a. They had. Thank. Thank you for your service. Sorry we drug you through court system for four years. I mean, it's unbelievable. Now the audience knows I am, you know, a professional Rodeo clown, unlike Dr. Andrew Fox, who's got a PhD and has been through hell, as you're hearing. I mean, I, you know, my book behind me, the Curse of the Bearded lady, is comedy. It's satire, it's humor. Riley Gaines gave me a blurb for my book behind me, but for this book, Riley wrote the forward. So when you were going through this and, you know, because of Willy woke in the Chocolate Factory, and because it was about, you know, women in sports, how did she reach out? Like, talk to me about how you got connected to her. [00:14:36] Speaker A: Well, one of Riley's connections in Washington, D.C. actually reached out to me to say, could he set up a phone call between me and Riley? Now, I'd seen Riley and that iconic picture of her looking at Leah Thomas, which is. Is really iconic. And Riley got on the phone with me. She is not only a darling, but she is a force to be reckoned with. She is an absolute voice for what is what the ancients would call the good, the beautiful and the true keep women in women's sports. She is an outstanding lady and we just remain connected through this time. And I reached out to her and I said, look, I know you're in demand. You've got your own Fox show, you know, and you probably get requests like this all the time, but would you consider writing me a forward? You know, God bless her. She did, and I highly respect her for that. She didn't need to, but she did. And it's added great weight to that book. [00:15:32] Speaker C: And look, we are all culture warriors here. We all handle it differently. You know, you're a man of the cloth, I'm a man of slipping and falling on banana peels. But, you know, humor. You also are someone that. That obviously traffics in satire. You use irreverent humor to illustrate truth. You know, and I, I. One of the things we always say here on Dangerous Laughter is that humor is moral warfare by other means. Yes, moral warfare by other means. That that ridicule sometimes can move faster than rebellion. [00:16:10] Speaker A: Yes. [00:16:11] Speaker C: Would you like to sort of unpack how you see that in the constellation of your own personal philosophy? [00:16:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I think we're losing the sense of, you know, the old ancient Greek ethos, pathos logos, what you're saying, who's saying it and how you're saying it. I think we're becoming vanilla shrink wrap, freeze dried. We're just. Just talking heads. But if you use humor and appeal to someone just to laugh about the truth of what you're saying, there is a medicine that comes with, almost unblocks your ears. It disarms people when you use humor. It opens them up, especially when that humor is sometimes directed to yourself. For instance, you know, let me give you two examples, and they're both in the book, you know. You know, in the Anglican Church, there's lots of blessings, you know, the Lord bless this, Lord bless that and the other. And there was one very public service where I use the word breast instead of blessed, and you just couldn't get away with it. You know, it is what it is. I apologize to the congregation for using that word. [00:17:24] Speaker C: But you use it on purpose. Or you had a little Freudian moment. [00:17:27] Speaker A: No, a Freudian moment. But their response was forgiving and laughter. And of course, I'm not a pervert. It was a Freudian moment. Another example is an OBGYN friend of mine. She's probably 65 years of age now. A few years ago, she took early retirement and she's a good friend. I serve on her board. And I said, you know, what's why the early retirement? She said, andrew, I'm so fed up of men coming into my OBGYN clinic asking for medication that only women will need in their cycle or asking for a pap smear. And I won't say it on your show here, but there was such humor between myself and her privately as to this has gone beyond an ideology to just a circus act. And she said, I've had enough. I've made enough money. I'm not doing this anymore. So we've got to have a sense of humor. We do, because it's disarming, it's transparent. And what we're saying is important. But, you know, as individuals, we're not that important. [00:18:36] Speaker C: No, I mean, and that's the thing. And there's a long tradition in the west of using humor to educate and using it to expose power. We're talking to Dr. Andrew Fox. We're going to take a break. We got two Andrews on the show today. Dueling Andrews. Okay, double tap to the head. We're going to try to make you laugh, make you think. We will be back on the other side. Ultra maga fascist. You know, Trump, people are Nazis. Can you imagine a young mushy skull being filled with this garbage? If you want to know why those numbers are what they are on the left. That's why. And now the new thing is we're gonna hunt Jews down. We're hunting Jews. That's, that's the new thing. And you know, you get these left wing comedians, they were shocked I didn't have that in my bingo card. [00:19:22] Speaker A: I mean, you, you see, you see [00:19:24] Speaker B: some of the stuff. [00:19:24] Speaker C: But like that one was the Democrat party is against electric cars and Jews. Trump did this to them, apparently. I guess, I mean, it's just, it's unbelievable. And some of these, like Chuck Schumer's chubby niece, Amy Schumer, she was shocked after October 7th that her, her left wing socialist friends secretly wanted to hunt down all the Jews. Well, news flash, totalitarians of a feather block together and they're, you know, gays for Palestine transfer. Palestine. Right. I mean, that's. And they're all the same people. And, and this causes a mental disorder. It has to, they don't know how to be authentically human, which is why, partially why they're miserable. [00:20:05] Speaker B: Yeah, it's beyond Trump derangement. Syndrome. At this point, it's. [00:20:08] Speaker C: It's far worse. [00:20:09] Speaker B: We got to figure out what exactly [00:20:10] Speaker C: it is other than just pure lunacy. [00:20:16] Speaker B: You should be women. [00:20:18] Speaker A: And yet your beards forbid me to [00:20:21] Speaker B: interpret that you are so. [00:20:22] Speaker A: So. Someone once said comedy is the art [00:20:25] Speaker B: of turning horror into humor. [00:20:28] Speaker A: That's the essence of the Curse of the Bearded Lady. Laughing in the face of madness before it devours us whole. Nothing in living memory has been funnier or more horrifying than a movement convinced there are 72 genders. Boys have a penis. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Girls have. [00:20:48] Speaker C: Have a vagina. [00:20:49] Speaker A: The Curse of the Bearded Lady. The curse of the Bearded Lady. [00:20:54] Speaker C: The trans mafia has wiped America's sanity. It's Monty Python by way of Minalo. Absurd theater with real victims. I'm not here to conduct a medical examination of the trans Mafia. This is a cultural autopsy. If Billy Shakespeare could write true tragedies, histories and comedies, why can't I? The radicals refuse to surrender their gender mad stranglehold on America's vital institutions. This book will show how we got here, how we fight back, and how the Democratic Party's obsession with mainstreaming the [00:21:34] Speaker B: bearded lady will doom it to political extinction. [00:21:39] Speaker C: Foreign [00:21:43] Speaker A: Stay locked in with the man who slayed the Woking dead. This is dangerous. Laughter with A.J. rice on the Publius Media Network. [00:21:56] Speaker C: Back on the DL, I am A.J. rice. We are speaking with Dr. Andrew K. Fox. His book, Truth in the Age of Applause. How stupidity is Ruining the American Dream. Always remember, ladies and gentlemen, there is no such substitute for perfectly timed derision. People want to applause, people want to applaud, all kinds of things out there. They just want to, you know, clap like circus, you know, seals, you know, you use this word stupidity, something we're all familiar with, at least we think we are. But you're using it in a philosophical way, channeling Bonhoeffer. So if you could, for the audience. We don't traffic in assumed knowledge here. So you're an educator. Tell us, who was Bonhoeffer? Why are you using stupidity in this way and why it's important to use it in the culture at this time. [00:22:51] Speaker A: If Bonhoeffer was alive today, he'd say exactly the same thing. He used the word stupidity in the Second World War because he was one of the singular voices, theologian, Lutheran pastor, and he went up against Adolf Hitler. Now, with respect to my Catholic brothers, this Vatican was very quiet during the Second World War and so was the Church of England, but not Bonhoeffer. He said to the German people, look, you're smart, you're Intelligent, you're rational, you're logical, you're reasonable. We produce some of the greatest music, the greatest engineers. You know, in hindsight, Germany were trying to split the atom when the southern states of America were still using outside bathrooms. It was an advanced country. So he's acknowledging you are a great people. But he said you're going along with Adolf Hitler's ideology, the Third Reich, the Nazi party, which we know to be an absolute terror and evil. He said, you smart people are abdicating on your cerebral moral judgment and just going along with the ideology. You're not asking questions, you're just nodding your head like some kind of dog in the back of the car. That's what we would say today. And he said, this is stupidity. And so what I see after my journey with the city of Austin and everything that went down with the woke world, there is the same kind of stupidity. So examples of that are, you got a governor in. In on the east coast saying, let's change mother to gestating parent. What are you going to do on Mother's Day? AJ Say to your mom, happy gestating person. She'll slap you on the face. [00:24:30] Speaker C: You got. [00:24:30] Speaker A: You got wanting to abort a babies the day before they're born. You've got. You got candidates that are pro Shariah law and Egypt and the Middle east that want to have seats on the set. [00:24:40] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Jury juries full of white. Juries full of white women that think Lindsay Clancy's innocent. I mean, it's madness spreading with everything like that. [00:24:51] Speaker A: It starts off good. It's. It's raised the awareness that, you know, with Clancy, that postnatal depression is a real thing and must never be taken, you know, lightly. But it's like every other movement in the country. It starts off well, and then it starts to take on another form. And we're now discovering that, you know, with riots, there have been pallets of bricks and everything that have been strategically left on the road. And there are people that are prepared to join it and paid to join it and take that level of peaceful protest to a level of anarchy. Now, Bonifour would say, you stupid people, that's not the way to do things. And that's what we're seeing in Europe as well. So that's the philosophical angle of the book. [00:25:38] Speaker C: And look, you know, people. I talk with people about this all the time. You had, see, Germany was broken down on different levels, but one of the reasons total war was used, one of the reasons, you know, collateral damage included, you know, Regular people making strudel. And it wasn't just the German regular army and the ss, when the entire society could go along with what happened there. Extremely smart people, like you said, they won most of the Nobel Prizes in between World War I and two for science and all kinds of things. So this, this, these weren't like barbarian rubes in the mountains, like the Taliban. Yeah, right. These are people that were sophisticated, you know, that, that, you know, listen to, you know, Mozart and Beethoven and, you know, Handel and Brahms and all kinds of people. You know, great literature, obviously a lot of philosophers influenced what Hitler was doing, you know, Nietzsche and Heidegger and others. But you, you take that the way that, that, for lack of better term, mind virus can spread and you have peer pressure and a social contagion, and you blend them. This is. And then you get, you add on top of it the virtue signal of it, which is why you had these wacky women outside the Clancy trial, you know, or you have the pink cat hat people outside the White House. In Trump's first term with the MeToo movement, everyone was guilty, right? Get through the first couple guilty people that are obvious ones, and then you, you start looking for more people that are close, close to guilty, and you're gonna, you know, just do the Salem witch trials. So with trans, I say to people all the time, you know, a time traveler may show up tomorrow and, and be like, what the hell are you people talking about? [00:27:31] Speaker A: Yeah, how do you get here? Yeah, here's how it plays out though, AJ and it's. You correctly pinpoint things through recent history there. And you can go back much further. You get an individual and their beliefs become who they are. So they are an ideology in themselves. To question them is to insult them and hurt them. And so you cannot question them. So they gather around themselves like minded people that hate the same things that they do and applaud like a Swiss watch when they should applaud. And then what happens is it gets more stupid. We're going back to Bonhoeffer again. And they knuckle down. I mean, they dig in and they get even more stupid. So it turns into a screaming, hissy fit. This peaceful protest turns into a chaotic no solution, no resolution, no compromise way, just for the sake of anarchy. And so Bonifour would say, hey, you wonder how you got here? You got here a long time ago by not using moral judgment to say, hey, this is right, but this is really wrong. [00:28:42] Speaker C: Right? [00:28:42] Speaker A: So, you know, when you got. [00:28:44] Speaker C: Go ahead. [00:28:45] Speaker A: When, when you get a father who goes to his high school and stands outside the girl's bathroom and stops boys pretending to be girls from going in there because his daughter's in the bathroom. The guy gets arrested right. Now, doesn't that smack of something of the future? [00:29:05] Speaker C: Yeah, no virtue signaling mixed with, you know, the social justice warrior ethos spreads. It spreads in some countries worse than others. Which brings me to the continent you fled and what the hell's going on? Not only in the uk, you know, I had a Scottish born Calvinist minister on a couple weeks ago who has joined forces. He's in Belfast now and he's, he's joined forces with the Catholics in Northern Ireland after that guy almost got his head chopped off in the streets. Jim Dawson was on the show. And you know, some, some of the sort of eastern bloc countries are doing better at preventing not only an invasion of the third world from the Middle east and, and you know, sub Saharan Africa, but also stopping the, you know, cultural Marxists from taking over the levers of the culture and the levers of power in the government. But sadly, France is not one of them. And you know, I've got to ask you, Chris, Chris, give me the, the bourgeois couple having the, the Bordeaux while, you know, New France takes place in the background. There's, There they are. There we go. Look at that. It's just a nice day, you know, it's an evening stroll. You can have a Bordeaux, a little, you know, Chateau Margaux there, maybe a little Brie, get a little baguette under your arm. But I mean this is, and look, they're calmly sitting there, they're checking their phone. Andrew. I mean this is madness. I mean that, I mean that is one of the all time images lately [00:30:59] Speaker A: that could be a second World War scene actually right there. But what's, what's interesting here is the foreground of the background of this. So the foreground is that students really are fed up with poor education and very poor facilities, with cockroaches running around. And even faculty and staff are part of the protest. But then it takes on another form and you think, where are all these masked people coming from? You know, with the, Please don't read into this. You know, why are they all shades of brown? You know, they've come from somewhere else other than France or they were carried to France as babies. But these are not students. This is absolute chaos. So the background of this is nothing short of the government's policy on immigration that has opened up their borders, that has flooded their country and these immigrants are fueling the anarchy. But there's two things you got to look at here. There's allowing people into your country, which is immigration, but there's also a simulation, a national identity. And if America doesn't pay attention to what's happening in France, it cannot be all about the borders and who's coming in the country. Yes, it is about that. But equally true, when you let someone in, you've got to help them to assimilate and have national identity. You know, what is the United States of America flag? You know, what is the government? What are shared values? How do you invite people with different religions, languages, culture, cuisine, and everything else into the country and yet share shared values? And that is the weakest link in bringing people into the country. Look in my filing cabinet. I've got a standard letter from President Obama. I wish it was President Trump, but I, you know, I became a citizen under Obama's presidency. And it clearly states in there, learn English. It says, now you are as naturalized citizen, you have responsibilities and obligations, and it spells them out. But you and I know as fathers, when you tell your children something, you don't just tell them. You got to show them, you got to teach them. And so the weakness in all of this that we see flaring up in France is you can allow people in legally, but if you're not doing anything to help them become French and learn the French language, what you're seeing on that screen is exactly what you get. [00:33:27] Speaker C: But it's, to me, as someone that studies the west and the history, it is outrageous. It's outrageous that those people can sit there on their, on their freaking phones. [00:33:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:33:39] Speaker C: Playing with themselves, you know, doing whatever the hell they're doing, you know, making AI Cat videos while, you know, Terminator. Well, you know, the world ends around them. Where's Charles Martel? Where are the Normans? Where's Charlemagne? Where's Charles de Gaulle? There's no one there. There's no. The, the apathy. The apathy that you could sit there and have left wing kooks pouring out into the streets, being, being, you know, backed up by basically third worlders that were brought in from Syria or Algeria, wherever the hell they came from. Some dump, some toilet. Here you go, here's some more of it. I mean, look at this chaos. It's insane. To me. It's insane. [00:34:22] Speaker A: They are not students. They know there might be some in there, but this is nothing short of a flood of immigration. They're Palestinian flags that have nothing to do with poor school facility facilities or cockroaches. This is another level. But you see, you know, and I know, and anyone that's read fourth grade history, France has had at least five to seven revolutions in its history. America's only had one. 1776. [00:34:50] Speaker C: Yeah. They're on their fifth. They're on their fifth republic, I think. [00:34:53] Speaker A: Yeah. What you're seeing is part of their DNA. And, and America needs to look at this and say, we will not allow this into our country. We know it's here, but we got to do something about that. You've got to help people find national identity. Pulling down all kinds of statues and monuments is not the way forward. You go to one of those things for a different day. But, you know, it's, it's not just about borders, it's about assimilating those people. Look to your audience. I would say, if the fee is right and government are listening, I would teach foreigners how to speak English in the United States. That's what's needed. But I teach them the Queen's English. Of course. [00:35:39] Speaker C: Yeah. No, but you know, it's. You are right in the sense that France going back to the Jacobins and Robespierre and Mira and Danton and, you know, chopping the royal family's head off and storming the Bastille, this is in their DNA. They've been schizophrenic since then. That's why Napoleon had to take control. Napoleon had to take control because the place was out of control, you know. But Robespierre chopped a bunch of heads off and then year, a couple years later, they chopped his head off. Yep, he tried to kill himself with a pistol. It didn't work and then they chopped his head off. So, yeah, the revolutionary, violent, Jacobin, Bolshevik type spirit is there, but not all cultures are created equal. There have been moments where France has had its act together, but they lost most of their probably alpha males in the trench warfare of World War I and then the Blitzkrieg of World War II. So who's left? Who's left? Is this the bloodline of the Franks? Is this the bloodline of the Hammer of the Franks? Or are the people, the people that are left? The men that are left are not the descendants of the people that died in World War I and 2 anymore because they never made it home to procreate. So who's out there? Pepe Le Pew? Like, who's out there? The people that are, you know, the Bree eaters. [00:37:03] Speaker A: Well, with the greatest respect, or maybe not any respect, France was very quickly to surrender to Germany and Jackboot to March through Paris. The least resistance. The relationship between France and Britain is a horrible one. I remember the French exchange we did in high school. We would go to France. Oh, no, for a couple of weeks. And then some of those students would come to our school for a couple of weeks. And of course we, you know, we love the French girls and everything, but the common joke is the body odor. The body odor is off the charts. [00:37:42] Speaker C: And is that real? [00:37:43] Speaker B: That's not. [00:37:43] Speaker C: Just the Pepe Le Pew thing is real. Oh, my God. [00:37:48] Speaker A: So they had. [00:37:48] Speaker C: What about the, what about the armpits? Do they look like your beard? The armpits look like your beard, sir. [00:37:55] Speaker A: If you go to Paris, France don't go in August. It's. There are some smells and bells that are right there. [00:38:02] Speaker C: But [00:38:05] Speaker A: we must look at the immigration thing there of. Does a country have the capacity if it allows people in, does it have institutional capacity? Can it house them? Can it educate them? What about the hospitals? What about emergency services? What about food and beverage? Does it have institutional capacity? And I don't think French France has any more. I went there on my 30th anniversary with five other great cities in, in Europe and me and my wife said, we're not going to Paris again. Yeah, it's just not the Paris we know. [00:38:37] Speaker C: We're talking to Dr. Andrew Fox. We're gonna take a break here. His book Truth in the Age of Applause. How stupidity is ruining the American dream. You know, the Pope, the American Pope, White Sox fan was just in France and he. It didn't get picked up. It didn't get picked up by many people because he said it in, he said it in French, but He basically told McCrone that, you know, a leader that can't protect his own people, a leader that allows this type of chaos, is no leader at all. And you know, that's people the French politicians applaud. That's their applause, the woke in France applause. They've been, they've been applauding their own destruction for almost a hundred years now. We're basically, you know, it's been 100 years since World War I now at this point. So we're going to take a break talking to Dr. Andrew Fox. We will be back on the other side. [00:39:31] Speaker A: Women's rights champion Riley Gaines calls it a fierce defense of principle wrapped in humor from a satirist who dismantles the Trans Mafia's propaganda number one. Amazon best selling author AJ Rice completes the trilogy that started with the Woking Dead and the White Privilege album. The Curse of The Bearded lady, how the Trans Mafia Whacked American Sanity. Volume three of Publius Prose, already a bestseller. Get your copy today available everywhere books are sold. And now please enjoy another elegant celebrity endorsement of dangerous laughter with A.J. rice. [00:40:26] Speaker B: Hey, how's it going? This is John Gruden, the old coach. Just getting started here. It's an early morning in Las Vegas right now. The streets are quiet out there, but last night they were rocking. They were all talking about A.J. rice. A.J. rice is live. I love this guy, man. This is your moment right now. If you're gonna host your own podcast, you gotta be a nightmare for the opposing team. And I'm into nightmares. I mean, I want you to live rent free inside the enemy's head. Byob. Be your own blocker. Hustle, hustle, hustle. Rice Flip right, double edge, jet 36, counter naked, Waglet 7X quarter. I mean, I want you to be a player, not a spectator. Rice. Let the competition come. Rice. Bring it on. Be the franchise quarterback, Rice. You got a motor, kid. Everybody sees it right now. Hit the gas and run these guys over. And don't forget Spider2y banana execution. Congratulations. You've been diagnosed with dangerous laughter. Now get out there and win. Love you, man. [00:41:43] Speaker A: This endorsement has been brought to you by collapsing standards everywhere. And now back to Dangerous Laughter. The management of this station are clueless. You're listening to dangerous laughter with A.J. rice on the Publius Media Network. [00:42:05] Speaker C: Back on the DL, I am A.J. rice. We're talking to Dr. Andrew Fox. His book Truth in the Age of Applause. And you know, we've got a lot of people, Doctor, that are applauding the destruction of the nuclear family, the destruction of the middle class, the destruction of Western civilization. And I categorize Western civilization as Greco Roman, Judeo, Christian civilization. Now I know there are some people out there that want to pretend like the Old Testament doesn't exist. They want to pretend that the Judeo part of our civilization doesn't exist. I guess maybe they can stop using anything that was ever invented by a Jewish person, see how their day goes, you know, but, but, but I think some of the chaos we see around [00:42:51] Speaker D: the world, [00:42:54] Speaker C: like we just saw in France, like we've, we've seen recently with some protests in the United states over the October 7th massacre that happened in Israel a couple years ago. You know, a lot of it, boy, is, is, is some of the old hatreds, Continental Europe hatreds, old school anti Semitism is being given a new face. It's being dressed up, it's Queers for Palestine and it's, you know, lesbians for Palestine and all the rest of it. So, you know, and. And I, as you can see there, you got, you know, guys on motorbikes, motorcycles there, going through Marseille with the Palestinian flag. [00:43:34] Speaker A: Right, yeah. So reality is. Is shifting sands for these people. But reality doesn't ask you permission any more than time asks you if is it okay to go to the next minute. You know, the day you die, time will be consistent. And just like the day you were born, time was just as consistent. Reality is just the same. Look, AJ if truth needs applause, it's no longer truth. It's a performance. And if society is based on a performance, then it will lose sight of its reality. And so to reinvent history or retell history in the way it wasn't, and as you say, you know, you got factions of LBGTQ that are pro Palestine. If you go to Palestine, they're going to throw you off the top of a building. And if you don't die, when you hit the floor, they will certainly finish you off. And I don't want to sound macabre, but. No, that's the irony. It's not reality anymore. [00:44:34] Speaker C: Yeah, no, you're right. [00:44:36] Speaker A: So imagine this. Imagine, use your imagination and think about walking into a forest and your head's down, you keeping your mind to yourself, keeping your business to your own business. You're not paying attention to what is actually around you. You keep putting one foot next in front of the other. And then one day, you look up and you look around and the road behind you seems to be faded away, and the road in front of you is very vague. And you think, how did I get here? I'm unfamiliar with what does all this mean? And the answer to that is, you didn't just get lost a moment ago. You were lost some time ago when you were not paying attention to things that were being said on the media, being published, being broadcast, and you didn't apply your own moral judgment again to say, hey, this is wrong. Let me give you a quick example. Mondami in New York City, they think that was a landslide win. No, it wasn't. He won by a small margin and not that many voters came out. And he acts like someone presidential. We saw that coming before he was on the ballot to be the mayor of New York City. But apparently a lot of people heads down, not paying attention to what's around them, not listening to what's around them and questioning what's going on. So the stupidity comes into it again. Philosophically. And the answer is, pay attention, November's coming. If you don't want someone in office, vote for the opposite person if you agree with them. [00:46:08] Speaker C: Exactly, exactly. Chapter three. Chapter three of yours talks about the authority of perception, which I think, you know, is some of what you're talking about. I think, you know, with. Look, Americans want to be fair, right? But I truly believe that due to technology and due to the ability for people to move around, I mean, we had a president of the United States that was, you know, basically a vegetable who basically allowed, you know, the amount of people that can fill Yankee Stadium into The country, just like 45, 46, 000 a week for years, for four years, you know, what do you think it is? What, what is it about the elites in the West? Is it white guilt? Is it shame? Do. Do they need a slave population? Do they, Are they. Is it. What, what do you think drives politicians in the west to want to flood these countries? That, quite frankly, you know, not everybody gets a trophy on planet Earth, you know, not every civilization is created equal. Not every culture is created equal. Where's the Magna Carta from? Kenya? [00:47:26] Speaker A: Well, you know, I don't know. [00:47:27] Speaker C: Why do they do this? Why do they want it? [00:47:30] Speaker A: Well, can you imagine, Go back to when you were a young boy, I don't know if you were like me, but if I was playing with my mates, as we called them in England, my. Your friends, playing any kind of game, if you couldn't win fairly, you'd cheat, you know, and you'd hope no adult was watching, and so you would win the game, whatever it was, game of cards, game of soccer or something, you would cheat. The same thing is happening here. If you can't win in a fair democratic showdown, you're going to cheat. We all know that the influx of illegal immigrants get more pampering, get more benefits and support than those that have actually fought for this country in the armed forces. They're taken care of and they are solicited for their vote. That's cheating. That's not fair. That's not right. And as you listen again and pay attention, lift your head up, pay attention to where you're going. Those in the Middle east are saying, you've not got the best of us, you've got the worst of us. So you. There are about 35 Islamic dedicated individuals that are on the ticket for this November from local to state level. Great Britain. If we're not paying attention in France, we should pay attention to what's happening in Britain. The absolute Flood of these things like the city of Birmingham, used to be the epicenter of steel industry. It's now number one on the terrorist watch. It's the number one city on the terrorist watch in Great Britain. Pay attention to what's happening. Ask the right questions. Ask why are we allowing these people to flood the country? Why are we not assimilating them? Why do we allow them to bring their own country and form that country in this world that we call the United States? Look, it's not Chinatown. We all love going to Chinatown and I'm swimming to eat. We all love going to Little Eat, Italy and having a dessert of pastry. But then threats to the United States. It's the, it's. They're not running for office, that they're not wanting to assume positions of power. No, I mean, contributing to the world. And so there's a great book out there. I forgot the, the author's name. It's called we will breed you out. And it's, it's. The Islamic ideal is that we will play the long game. [00:49:53] Speaker C: That's right. [00:49:54] Speaker A: It's not us or our children, it's our grandchildren that will be elected. [00:49:58] Speaker C: And if they, if they team up with, you know, the cultural Marxists that have been playing the long game for 100 years, going back to, you know, Antonio Gramsy, and they can find, you know, totalitarians of a feather flock together, as I say here all the time. You know, they're fellow travelers until, you know, they'll eventually have to knock you off. I mean, you know, you've got a string of goofy mayors after Rudy Giuliani of New York City, one goofy white after another. And then Mayor Adams, who they ran out of town, couldn't even run for reelection, basically. And, you know, you have a situation where you now have this, you know, Ugandan born Nepo baby on the prayer rug, you know, with a stinky hummus breath, is now in charge. And, you know, his message for October 7th was terrible. And, you know, I, I did a little research about. Because I, I saw something that I found fascinating and I wanted to run it by you, considering that, you know, you were adopted as a, as a, as a baby in the UK and then you've been adopted by the United States as a citizen, courtesy of George Washington. And unfortunately, Barack Obama signed the letter. But, you know, you can, you can go serve in the French Foreign Legion if you want. You know, the, the American, American, American people might need to go. The French need the French Foreign Legion on the streets of Paris right now. You could serve in the Australian military, Ukraine. There are some ways that if you have Irish parents or grandparents, you can go serve in the Irish Defense Force in Ireland. I mean, there are different countries out there. There's some Caribbean countries where, you know, there's different ways for you to serve in militaries of other countries. This is not abnormal. The Marquis de Lafayette did it here when the country was founded. Right. Baron von Steuben did it here. They served both of them for George Washington. I mean, Alexander Hamilton was born in the Caribbean. Okay, which brings me to this idea that there are people that are. Have both Israeli and American citizenship, that a lot of them do both. They serve in the American armed forces, and then they serve in the Israeli armed forces. And there are people with citizenship, too, where, you know, and. And they. A lot of them were killed on October 7th. Which brings me. And I want to. I want your unique take on this because you are, as I asked you, you're. You've got dual citizenship. Although you mentioned you need to have a visa. You said to enter. [00:52:43] Speaker A: Yep. [00:52:44] Speaker C: Okay. Enter the Great Britain. But, you know, look, we've. I've known Tucker Carlson. He's been around for 20. The 22 years that I've been in this business. And I'm just. And I've. I've had conversations with him. In fact, I was the publicist for Chadwick Moore's book, which was the biography of Tucker Carlson, which was a New York Times bestseller. And I've read it and, and everything that I've ever read about his biography, a book I promoted. I can't figure out how the person saying what I'm about to play is the same person. So, Chris, give. Give that to the audience. [00:53:21] Speaker D: The first lies they told. Was this was an attack on America. Well, no, actually it wasn't. Was an attack on southern Israel by people who are mad at your country for a very specific list of things that they claim you did. Maybe you didn't do them, but this is your dispute, not ours. So how they rope us into it? Well, by telling us that a lot of the victims of those attacks were Americans. Well, actually, no, they weren't. They were dual citizens. In fact, we checked today, and we could not find a single American citizen killed on October 7th who didn't have Israeli citizenship. Doesn't mean they deserve to die. They didn't deserve to die. And we mourn their deaths. But that's not the same as rolling into a music festival in Miami. It's totally different. The hostages, we were endlessly told a lot of them were Americans. What we weren't constantly told was, oh, yeah, some of them had American citizenship, but they were Israelis. Serving in a foreign military doesn't mean they deserve to be kidnapped. And we hope they're okay as we hope every person in this conflict is okay. But don't tell me this implicates my people or my country. Why are we allowing American citizens to serve in a foreign military in the first place? That's very unwise. It's offensive, actually, data that an American citizen with a blue passport could be serving for someone else's military. It's not even worth explaining why that's absurd. It's obviously insulting to the United States. [00:54:49] Speaker C: Okay, well, so Andrew Fox, if you go abroad and get killed, man, you're, you know, you're not going to count on Tucker's report card. You're not, you're off the meter. [00:55:00] Speaker A: I disagree with Tucker completely there. I, I, I don't know about the armed forces, but I do know that when I became an American citizen, you make the Pledge of Allegiance and in that you are all in with the United States. You sign paperwork to that degree that you forsake all other forms of government. Now, I'm not in the military, but I've got paperwork that can show you that, yes, I have dual citizenship, the place of my birth in Great Britain. But it clearly states, and I cannot be clearer, if I enforce something of British government that is against the United States, I immediately lose my naturalized American citizenship. That's in writing. And so an extreme would be if Britain and America went to war against each other, which, you know, is, is probably not going to happen anytime in the next thousand years. Yeah, but, and if I started to subscribe to Britain is Right, America must die, then I am subject to losing my naturalized citizenship. I've got that in Russia. [00:56:12] Speaker C: And we've seen some people, we've seen Rubio remove people here that are running around on college campuses and you know, they're trying to get tenure. A couple professors and some nuts that, you know, they're screaming about the United States and imperialism and all the rest of it. But here's the thing, like these were just regular ass Jewish people that probably have family in Israel that were at a music festival and Hamas, like the little tapeworm scumbag tunnel rats popped up and murdered them. I mean, this wasn't, you know, the Israeli Defense Force that got attacked. These were just regular people. If you did somehow storm Dolphin Stadium in Miami or some concert venue in Miami and were able to kill as many people in Miami tomorrow. Chances are, let's say it was a pit bull concert, right? Who's a Cuban dissident? Do you know how many non Americans would get killed in that situation? It wouldn't just be a bunch of. Wasn't just be a bunch of, you know, Betty Crockers and, and Fred Rogers. It would be a whole international group of people that were killed. Yeah, so, so yeah, Americans got killed on October 7th. [00:57:27] Speaker A: Course, it's insane. If they were Israeli and they were granted American citizenship, which is easier if, if you research this than being American and being granted Israeli citizenship. If America has granted them citizenship, then they are American citizens, they're naturalized. It just means they weren't born here, but they're just as American as everyone else. [00:57:49] Speaker C: And a lot of I go back, a lot of those people, a lot of those people that were killed were born here. [00:57:55] Speaker A: Right. They are American. [00:57:57] Speaker C: I mean, it's just, it's crazy. So look, we're not going to solve that. You, you know, check back in with me in a thousand years we'll see if the Palestinians Israel still after each other. So let's get back to the book here before we roll Truth in the Age of Applause. How Stupidity is Ruining the American Dream by Dr. Andrew Fox forward by Riley Gaines. I, you know, I like to ask this when I have authors on what is the one part of the book that, you know, you do interviews that, that you wish people would ask you about that they don't. Hidden message. Something hidden in the nooks and crannies, you know, below the, through the side door, through the side window. Like you said, you've been slipping in. What, what is that section of the book? What is the message, the, the hidden message that you want people to have with this book? [00:58:46] Speaker A: Stop being afraid. It's. People are saying I'm going to lose my job, lose my career, lose my assets, lose my influence, lose my connections. Says who? There are some things worth fighting for. Throughout the 17 chapters of the book, what I do is, is I show how this ideology enters an organization, be it a school district, a corporation, a mom and pop store, the butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker, hoa. Or even a place of worship, a synagogue, a church or something like that. How these woke ideas start taking over the organization. And you know it. You intuitively know it and you're afraid to speak up because it may cost you. But isn't that the way of the United States? It does cost us something for truth. And there is plenty of legal support around us to sustain what we have, that we did no harm, we caused no foul play, we caused no disruption. So in the beginning of the book, what I do is create the picture of you're in a team meeting and halfway through the team meeting, the team leader asks you, does anybody have any fresh ideas? You share your idea and then the room goes deadly quiet. And the team leader says, I respect your courage and your bravery. And you think, oh, whoa, what's going off here? And in the next team meeting, you're invited to a HR meeting to use appropriate words. And in the next team meeting, there's policy to say you won't use those words again. And in the next team meeting, there's enforcement of the policy to say you'll lose your pension, your job and everything because of that. You nip it in the bud right at step one. There's nothing brave and courageous about sharing an idea that is a passive way of saying you've overstepped the line and we're going to make sure you don't do that again. That is not American. That in itself is a Marxist way. That's the example of going to the Soviet Union and you got all these flourishing stores and it suggested to you that you have a picture of Vladimir Putin in your store. And there are three stores that say, no, we don't want to do that. And by the end of the month, those three stores are out of business. [01:01:04] Speaker C: That's right. [01:01:04] Speaker A: That is what's happening with this ideology that creeps in. How do we prevent it? I explain that in the book. And so the answer to your question is, don't be so afraid, use words. Go back to the eloquence and the persuasion of words. Is this not the way of the United States? [01:01:25] Speaker C: Sure. [01:01:26] Speaker A: Do we have to resolve things by bringing in a higher authority? Could we not reason together? A perfect example of that would be my father's generation. They will speak a certain way about the opposite sex. That is no harm, no foul. But they'll be admiring. If I said it, it would be perceived as, you know, quite vulgar or something like that.
