China, Communism & the Cold War That Never Ended | Dr. Bradley A. Thayer with A.J. Rice

Hosted by

A.J. RICE

Show Notes

What if America celebrated winning the Cold War before the ideological conflict was actually over?

Dr. Bradley A. Thayer joins A.J. Rice on Dangerous Laughter for a wide-ranging discussion about China, communism, the Chinese Communist Party, cultural Marxism, American identity, individual liberty, political ideology, censorship, comedy, and the continuing influence of collectivist ideas in American culture.

The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991—but Thayer argues that communist ideology did not disappear with it.

Drawing from his book, America’s Hundred Years’ War: How to Win Against Communism, Dr. Thayer explains why he believes the larger ideological struggle continued beyond the Cold War and why understanding modern China requires examining not only Beijing and Xi Jinping, but also the institutions that shape culture, education, media, politics, and public opinion.

A.J. Rice brings the questions, skepticism, political commentary—and, naturally, the perfectly timed derision.

IN THIS EPISODE:

THE COLD WAR THAT NEVER ENDED
Why Dr. Thayer distinguishes between defeating the Soviet Union and defeating communist ideology.

CHINA, XI JINPING & THE CCP
How communist ideology, centralized political power, and the Chinese Communist Party intersect in modern China.

WHO CONTROLS THE “IDEAS INDUSTRY”?
Thayer discusses the influence of universities, schools, media, entertainment, museums, and other cultural institutions on the ideas Americans encounter.

CULTURAL MARXISM & COLLECTIVISM
A discussion of Marxist thought, collectivist politics, political movements, and the continuing appeal of promises built around economic and social equality.

MAMDANI, THE DSA & MODERN POLITICAL RHETORIC
A.J. Rice and Dr. Thayer examine contemporary political rhetoric and respond to a Bill Maher clip about socialism, capitalism, and American politics.

WHY AUTHORITARIAN REGIMES FEAR COMEDY
From underground jokes to political censorship, the conversation explores why satire and humor have historically created problems for governments that demand ideological conformity.

AMERICAN IDENTITY & INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY
Why Thayer argues that individual rights, liberty, and a distinctly American political identity are central to countering collectivist ideology.

And stay for one of the episode’s most interesting questions:

Why can governments powerful enough to build enormous statues, command massive militaries, and stage elaborate political spectacles still feel threatened by one person telling a joke?

Can an ideology lose its country without losing the argument?

Join the conversation in the comments.

Subscribe to Dangerous Laughter with A.J. Rice, follow the show, turn on notifications, and share this episode with someone interested in China, communism, American politics, political philosophy, history, the Cold War, cultural Marxism, free speech, censorship, and political satire.

Comedy is our civic duty. Stay dangerous.

[00:00:01] Speaker A: Dangerous laughter. Laughter. Dangerous. Danger. Laughter. Dangerous laughter. Danger. Laughter. Sam. Day 8. [00:01:09] Speaker B: The Emergency Destruct system is now activated. The option to override detonation procedure has now expired. The ship will automatically destruction. Welcome back to Dangerous Laughter. I am AJ Rice, your lovable hairless pet. Not as hairless as James Tellarico in Texas. He is a 72 gendered hairless pet. But we appreciate everyone tuning in. Always go to dangerouslaughter.com and remember, our job here is to transform horror into humor. Halloween's coming up. We're going to see a lot of that. The 300 pound blue hairs will be on the march out there. And you might see, even see the bearded lady out there on the streets. And not just behind me. You know, one of the things, greatest things Karl Marx ever did was die. He died. Our next dangerous guest never smoked a cigar rolled by Fidel. He claims the Cold War never ended because Communism was never defeated. It's all around us. Just look out your window, turn on your TVs. He is an American Freedom alliance fellow and founding member of the Committee on the Present Danger of China. His new book, America's Hundred Years War, how to win the War Against Communism. He prefers John Lennon over Vladimir Lenin, although both were likely communists. I think most likely Yoko definitely was right. Ladies and gentlemen, the brilliant and provocative Dr. Bradley Thayer, everybody. Bradley Thayer's in the house. Big shot with the communism. So, Brad, welcome to Dangerous Laughter. How are you? [00:03:10] Speaker C: A.J. it's great to join your audience and you today. Just wonderful to be with you. [00:03:14] Speaker B: It's my, my buddy Brad. We love him. We love him@publius PR. We love him here at Dangerous Laughter. I know Bannon loves him. Bannon wrote the forward to the book. Before we dive totally into, you know, Mal's underwear drawer. Tell, give the audience, you know, look, I got all kinds of wise guys that come on this show and very few have a resume like yours. So give, give the audience a little bit of color commentary, a little bit of flavor. What is the Bradley Thayer origin story? [00:03:48] Speaker C: Well, goodness, I was born in a log cabin, AJ Born to be president. [00:03:55] Speaker B: That's right. You were floating. You're floating down the river and Bannon picked you up out of the river. That's right, that's right, that's right. [00:04:01] Speaker C: No, I was, I have an academic as a background. I worked in government in the first Trump administration as a special governmental employee at the Office of Strategy at DHS working on the China threat. And they did some really good work. They're calling attention to the threat that the PRC poses to the United States. And I'm a columnist and opinion author. Written a few books, more than a few, actually, and very pleased to join you to talk about the. My latest 100 Years War. [00:04:34] Speaker B: That's right. Everybody got to go out and get one of these. You know, there's four faces here on the front. We got Soros, we got Lenin, and we got Mao. And of course, she. Mal's inheritor of the. [00:04:50] Speaker C: And AJ if there were. If there were a fifth, I put Mandami up there. [00:04:54] Speaker B: Yeah, I was gonna say, you know, you know, we could fill this book cover maybe for the paperback. You never know. So the central argument here, and I agree with the central argument, is that the Cold War didn't really end because the ideological conflict with communism didn't end that. Yeah, okay. The Berlin Wall comes down. We all. We have an era of good feeling, right? The Castro boys are, you know, Cuba right now is holding on for dear life. You've got the, The Kim, the little Kim, little rocket man, little Kim, the Kim people in North Korea. I guess we gotta sort of accept their, Their. Their rule for now because I think they probably have. Have a nuke. But this was a big ideological conflict. You know, we go from the end of World War II to, you know, Reagan Wall comes down under Bush Senior. But out in the world, communism stays alive. It stays alive, contrary to historians, popular notions. Right? [00:06:01] Speaker C: That's exactly right, A.J. so we defeated the Soviet Union in the Cold War, and that was at terrific cost. We made a lot of sacrifices during the Cold War, both in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and. And serving to contain the Soviet Union during that time. But we didn't defeat the ideology. The ideology was birthed in 1917 with the Bolshevik Revolution. And Lenin's intent was to spread communism to every country. And he did spread it, obviously to Russia, which became the Soviet Union, but also to China, and he exported it to the United States. So we've defeated communism in Russia. We haven't defeated communism in China. In fact, alive and well, and we have not defeated communism in the United States, A.J. so we're not. [00:06:52] Speaker D: We're. [00:06:53] Speaker C: Our batting average is not as good as we'd like it to be. We still have got to defeat communism in the States and also in China. [00:07:02] Speaker B: That's funny because I was about to say, you know, if you're watching the scorecard, Soviet Union disappears in 91, Berlin Wall's gone, and we all declare victory. You're essentially saying you were watching the scorecard instead of the game and in the game, they have burrowed in like a tapeworm, like termites, right? Like a water bug sitting on your eyelid, drinking your, you know, vital essence. They're there. They're everywhere. I've written about it. I've written about cultural Marxism and, you know, Antonio Gramsey and, you know, the infiltration of all the sort of levers of the culture and of lifestyle, everything from the public sector unions to, you know, early radio to Hollywood and so on. But they're here. And I feel. And, you know, some of this is, you know, reactionary to Trump, but I think this was growing. I feel they're as bold now as they have ever been. Some of these ideas that the DSA and Bernie have. They should be embarrassed. They should. These, these are ideas that have failed for a hundred years, and yet here they are. Correct? [00:08:19] Speaker C: Absolutely. So communism has killed over 100 million people in about 100 years, since 1917. It is a failed ideology. It doesn't work in theory, and it is. It does not work in practice. It's been a disaster wherever it's been tried, whether that's China, the Soviet Union, and it will be, if it succeeds, in the United States. But that doesn't stop them because they have a Leninist drive, right? The drive to seize control of the United. To realize Lenin's vision to destroy Western civilization and destroy Western democracy is the intent. And they're well on their way. AJ as you know, as we're moving into the 26 election and as we see on the horizon, 2028, we know what the Democrats will be running and how they're running and the arguments that they're making. So this is absolutely in accord with Lenin's vision of how to seize control of any state, including the United States. So it's a worrisome time. It's a revolutionary time. AJ the thrust of the book is that this is a revolutionary time. We can either stay and work to preserve the United States as a constitutional republic, or we can fall into the abyss of totalitarian communism. And those are the stark. It's a stark choice, but that's where we are today. And you just need to pick up the newspaper, go to your favorite website, and you're going to get evidence of that. [00:09:49] Speaker B: That's right. That's right. And Bannon wrote the forward to the book. And Chris, get that banning cut ready here for a second. Here in, in the forward, Bannon quote talks about something, and you're talking about Lenin here called civilizational erasure. So the, the erasing of Civilization. And I. Look, I have made the case in three different satire books that the goal, especially my second book, the White Privilege Album, that the goal, in order to get us all angry enough to believe garbage coming out of Bernie Sanders mouth, that Western civilization, Judeo, Christian, Greco Roman civilization has to go, that the middle class has to go, and that the nuclear family has to go. So, you know, before we throw to that cut, what. What is this civilizational erasure? [00:10:43] Speaker C: Well, civilizational erasure is exactly as it's identified. It's the. The Communists are working to erase Western civilization, to eliminate it. The National Security Strategy of the United States, which was released in early December of 2025, talked about that being a national security threat. Importantly, that is a real threat to the United States. They're going through, as Orwell said, if I control the present, I control the past, and if I control the past, I control the future. So the Marxists, the Communists have gotten control of our educational system, the ideas industry, as I call it in the book, K through 12, education, colleges, universities, media, museums, our think tanks. And as a result of that, they are erasing Western civilization and American history. So that 1776, for example, is not honored and the Founding Fathers are not honored, but we celebrate instead, 1619, right. A new history is being introduced. The west is being erased in every aspect of it, whether it's in our art or whether it's in our architecture, where we used to have standards of classical beauty and an understanding of what art did, which was to further that, it's all gone in our politics. Right? We don't talk and reference our politicians today on the Democratic side no longer reference essentially classical identity and classical figures, for example. So, AJ we are at, again, that revolutionary time, the State of the Union address in February. President Trump honored heroes, including that army warrant officer who flew in Venezuela and was wounded. But he received the Congressional Medal of Honor on that night. A.J. you'll remember that. Well, President Trump called Congress, Senate House members to stand to celebrate that the Democrats in Leninist discipline would not stand. They would not honor that individual. Well, why wouldn't they honor that? Because they're not here to honor America. They're here to erase America. They're here to destroy America, and that's why they're not standing for it. They represent a revolutionary idea which is coming to pass. [00:13:04] Speaker B: Right. [00:13:04] Speaker C: And to get rid of the past is absolutely essential. Mandami says on July 3, on his speech where he gave allegedly an Independence Day speech, he stated that Independence Day is whatever you want it to Be. Well, no, that's not right. But that's a communist tactic, right? [00:13:25] Speaker B: Sure. [00:13:25] Speaker C: You seize the holidays and you erase them so it does not become a celebration of American independence, July 4th. It becomes whatever you want it to be. [00:13:34] Speaker B: That's right. That's right. And they're doing, they're doing it to government and in some places they're doing it to certain churches where they, you know, bring Karl Marx into the church and they baptize them right in front of you. So, Chris, we're going to throw to this Banning cut. Let's, let's take a look at Bannon here. He's got better hair than I do. Now. Hit it, Chris. Let's play that cut. [00:13:54] Speaker E: Berlin Wall came down. We beat him. And then, and they were in 90s Tiananmen Square, it all collapsed. The people took it down. The Tiananmen Square. [00:14:03] Speaker F: Right. [00:14:03] Speaker E: It collapsed in and of itself. How could we be losing? How could, how could 30 years later we'd be losing on something? The people said, we spent the 20th century fighting these madmen and we won. [00:14:14] Speaker F: It's been 100 years to get Hitler in the. [00:14:16] Speaker E: That was bad. And Imperial Japan, but 100 year war, didn't we win, sir? [00:14:21] Speaker F: We defeated the Soviet Union in a tremendous struggle, Steve, in which you participated and the great sacrifices were made in the Cold War, but we did not defeat the ideology of communism. That ideology is alive and well in the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing. It's also alive and well in the Democratic Party in the United States as well as other groups operating in the United States. So, yeah, we defeated the Soviet Union. That was a great victory, but we did not defeat the ideology the way we did Nazism, Italian fascism, Japanese militarism, for example, that ideology is alive and well. It's operating within the United States and it's operating with great dispatch, great energy and direction. They know what they're doing. We have been feckless for too long. [00:15:09] Speaker B: That's right. So Soviet Union collapses, you know, like a Slavic donkey cart. And the country's gone. This unit, the union of these sort of the Eastern bloc states, and. [00:15:23] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:24] Speaker B: You know, Kazakhstan and all the rest of them, you know, where Borat's from. So the question then becomes, can an ideology lose its country without losing a war? Right. You know, I mean, yeah, you know, and, and, and look, I guess they've always tried to export this. Right? I mean, we've been in an, in an export war since the end of World War II. Well, we're trying to export capitalism. And you know, free enterprise system and, you know, religious plurality and all the rest of it. And in some cases we try to export it to places where we have no business, like trying to turn Iraq into South Dakota. It's not going to happen. Right. But here they are. They're here. They've burrowed in. Do you feel that there are politicians that, that understand the threat that you are describing in this book? [00:16:23] Speaker C: President Trump does as he's, as his truth social posts identify since May. AJ you'll remember this, of course, he's been on the communist threat since May, talking about it, explicitly saying communism does not belong in the United States. It is anti American as indeed it is. And Americans can either be patriots or they can be communists, but you can't be both. So President Trump gets it and I think a lot of good people around President Trump get it. But too many do not understand that we're in a fight for our lives. This is a revolutionary time and we are in 28. AJ as you know, if it goes the wrong way, on January 20th, the afternoon of January 20th, 2029, the Democrats, should they be in office, will sign executive orders within three minutes of taking the oath of office. That president, whether it's Gavin Newsom or AOC or you pick your Leninist, [00:17:27] Speaker B: are [00:17:27] Speaker C: going to sign executive orders to pack the Supreme Court to abolish the filibuster, to abolish maybe the Senate to have new Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia become states. They're going to ensure that they never leave power again, to say nothing about the persecution which is going to come about it. So you could have their success in, in just a couple of years. And that's total. This isn't 20 years down the road. This isn't 10 years down the road. This is a couple years down the road. And we're going to see in November of 2026 the midterms that's going to take the temperature, if you will, of the American people. So I wrote the book to energize folks. Hey, sure, you know, it's a five alarm fire, whatever you want to say, folks have got to come out and get involved and defeat communism once and for all. [00:18:24] Speaker B: Absolutely. We're talking to Dr. Bradley Thayer, his new book from Skyhorse, America's Hundred Years War, how to Win Against Communism. We're going to take a quick break. You know, like I said earlier, people are watching the scorecard and they're not watching the game. Dr. Thayer's watching the game and you'll be watching more dangerous. Laughter on the other side. We'll be right back. Everything that Trump has done since he came into power is about China, the Panama Canal, Greenland, Ukraine, Venezuela, Iran, the removal of Hezbollah, the removal of Hamas. These are the removal of Bashar Al Assad. And Trump, you know, put a Sunni terrorist in charge of Syria because they would have loyalty to Saudi Arabia, not Iran. Sometimes you have to make those decisions, you know, And Trump, Trump brought the guy to the Oval Office and he was showing him some of his Trump cologne and he said, hey, you know, what do you think of this scent? What do you think of that scent? He's like, how many wives do you got? So these are all Chinese satellite states. These are all customers of China. If China and Russia want Iran, they're going to have to recognize that Iran is not going to be what it was, but they can have a hand in what it will be if they help. Come to the table and say, okay, the Iranian people have spoken. They don't want this, and let them sort of self determine how their future is going to be. If Trump can do that, and he's the only man that can, the midterms are going to be a wash for the Democrats. I mean, he. Look, this is a man making moves that will ring down through the ages. He basically decapitated Iran in four days. Putin hasn't been able to defeat beat the Ukrainians in four years. [00:20:03] Speaker D: You should be women. [00:20:05] Speaker G: And yet your beards forbid me to [00:20:07] Speaker D: interpret that you are so. Someone once said comedy is the art of turning horror into humor. That's the essence of the Curse of the Bearded Lady. Laughing in the face of madness before it devours us whole. Nothing in living memory has been funnier or more horrifying than a movement convinced there are 72 genders. Boys have a penis. Girls have a vagina. The curse of the Bearded Lady. The curse of the Bearded Lady. The Trans mafia has whacked America's sanity. It's Monty Python by way of Mengelo. Absurd theater with real victims. I'm not here to conduct a medical examination of the trans Mafia. This is a cult cultural autopsy. If Billy Shakespeare could write tragedies, histories and comedies, why can't I? The radicals refuse to surrender their gender mad stranglehold on America's vital institutions. This book will show how we got here, how we fight back, and how the Democratic Party's obsession with mainstreaming the bearded lady will doom it to political extinction. Stay locked in with the man who slayed the Woking dead. This is dangerous. Laughter with A.J. rice on the Publius Media Network. [00:21:41] Speaker B: And we're back. Dangerous LAUGHTER I'm talking to Dr. Bradley Thayer, my buddy. His book, America's Hundred Years War. I mean, you got to get this book. I mean, it's. We got antifa on the front. We got blurbs from Jeff Clark. You know, they were hunting him for a while there. Dave Bratt, who I may or may not own property in his former district, obviously. Dr. Drew, Dr. Karen's my buddy, got some great blurbs. How to Win Against Communism. America's Hundred Years War. Dr. Bradley Thayer, forward by Steve Bannon I think, Bradley, I think that in order to get what they want, and, you know, I talk about this from a cultural perspective, that you have to get large groups of people to stop believing in their own civilization. [00:22:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:22:33] Speaker B: Because as, as Uncle Pat used to say, Pat Buchanan, not all civilizations are created equal and that some of them go away, just like not all cultures are created equal. Right. They go away or they suck. We're allowed to say that. Okay. For the same reason Dr. Thayer and I aren't allowed to go play for the Philadelphia 76ers. We don't make the team. Not everybody gets it. Everybody doesn't get a trophy. They don't get a. You don't get a trophy in your form of government. I think France is on, what, like their fifth Republic at this point? [00:23:06] Speaker C: If. [00:23:07] Speaker B: Yeah, they've had to. They've had to reboot themselves. They've had to reboot themselves five times. They can't get their act together. So talk to me about that. Talk to me about the ability for communism, socialism, national socialism, Democrat socialism, to get large groups of people doing the long march. How do you get a group of people to stop believing in their own civilization? [00:23:33] Speaker C: Communists are really smart. They're. They're really good at political warfare. We should consider them the New York Yankees of political warfare. They understand that societies need to replicate themselves. And if you can stop that, if you can unhinge a society, then you can move it towards your communist direction, towards your communist aim. So, AJ I talked before about the ideas industry. Communists always go after the ideas industry because if you own the ideas of a country, you're going to be able to erase Western civilization and you're going to be able to erase American history, and you are going to be able to rewrite American history by teaching the kids K through 12, and then also the adults, undergraduate graduate education, the law schools, you're going to be able to take them in that direction. And the communists understood that. They didn't have numbers, AJ but they had focus. A Leninist discipline focusing on what you need to do to conquer a country. Ideas, industry, culture, industry, some other elements, and you're going to own it, even if you only have, if you will, relatively small numbers. So, A.J. that's it. Exactly. That's how they are able to erase your civilization and erase American history and cause you to forget it. Because intentionally they are doing that. And then once they've achieved that, they're making their own effort to rewrite your history along their aims, along their goals. Where we celebrate 1619, for example, where Shakespeare is erased because Shakespeare is too dominant, and so you have to erase Shakespeare. [00:25:18] Speaker B: You know, they're gonna come. They come for the. I told everyone, you're gonna come for the Confederate generals in the Civil War. Take their statues down. Stonewall Jackson has to go in the front of vmi. And I told people, I said, look, once the people in the gray uniforms are gone, they're going to come for the people in the Navy uniform and Columbus and Churchill and Maggie Thatcher and whoever the hell else, you know, statue of Lincoln with a slave that he freed in Washington D.C. that's got to come down. So, I mean, my God, I mean, it never ends. Go ahead. [00:25:55] Speaker C: If people are tearing down statues, you might be in a revolutionary time, right? You might be actually in the midst of a revolution when they're tearing down Andrew. [00:26:04] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:26:05] Speaker C: Trying to tear down. So let's recognize we're in a revolution. They're erasing our history, they're erasing our civilization. And so we. The antidote to that is a renaissance in American history. It's a renaissance of American identity that allows us to recognize our spirit, the fact that we are a unique country and we are a unique people who made something new in the world. As the Founding Fathers identified. Our ideology is one of political liberalism, where we recognize that people are individuals. We don't belong to groups. We. We are individual humans. And we have rights given by God, not by a government, but given by God. And from that, we base our political. Our polity, we base our political organization, our institutions. And our political culture is rooted in that and should be rooted in that. So when the Communists show up and tell you all of it's got to go, it's the responsibility of Mr. And Mrs. American to say, heck no. Right? We're not going to do this. And in fact, Communism has got to go because it is anti American, it is as pernicious as cancer, and it has to be taken out of the ideas industry, out of our political system out of everywhere where it services, which is essentially now everywhere. AJ because as you know, once you get the ideas industry, you're able to spread very rapidly throughout. [00:27:35] Speaker B: Oh, absolutely. [00:27:36] Speaker C: You know, corporations, everything. [00:27:39] Speaker B: So, yeah, and for a long, you know, Silicon Valley, I mean, they use, you know, this stuff. I mean, this is stuff that Mao and Tojo and Hitler and Stalin and, and, you know, would never even Nikolai Chai Chenu. Can you imagine if they had this technology at their fingertips? I mean, we might, you know, it might have been the man in the High Castle. Let's talk a little bit about the utopian drug. Little dope hit. The first hit is free. Whether you're lighting yourself on fire like Richard Pryor or whether you're, you know, tying one off, maybe a little crack pipe like Hunter. So the utopian drug, because communism promises this. And the new man and the, and the, the, the, the, the, the woman with a beard and the new man and the 72 genders of the new man. And some of our friends on the right, by the way, unfortunately, have picked up some of this utopian behavior. Well, you know, Trump, Trump is all bad because I don't like this thing. He doesn't pass the purity test. Right. Doesn't pass the purity test. So he's gone. Right. So, you know, you're no longer in a position where, you know, your 80 friend is your 20 enemy or whatever the hell. Right. That's what I think Newt used to say. So you've got gulags and famines and purges, you know, the Ukrainian famine, failed economies, and yet communism keeps finding new people to believe in this stuff. So what is that, what is that utopian urge? The idea that, the idea that, that you can get to some final version of mankind? I mean, I guess in order to, to do that, you have to believe that we can be perfected. And in order to do that, you've got to remove Christianity and Judaism. [00:29:34] Speaker C: Yep. [00:29:35] Speaker B: Especially Christianity. And if you are a Christian, you know, you know that there was only one perfect person and it wasn't you, bozo. And it wasn't Donald Trump and it wasn't Ronald Reagan and it wasn't Churchill, and it's certainly not some podcast host or some mayor of New York City. Am I right? [00:29:53] Speaker C: Absolutely none of them. It's that millenarian aim which allows communists to have a very attractive, if you will, that broad appeal to so many people. Because a lot of people are frustrated with the way things are and they want change to the way things are. And Communism offers them change. It offers them anybody who's got a resentment. Anybody who doesn't has had a slight. Anybody who doesn't like the way things are. Communism comes up and says, hey, I can change everything. I'm going to make it better. So I'm going to get rid of the people who've oppressed you and the people who were mean to you and the people who were bad to you. And I'm going to get it by destroying that order and that civilization, that political system, that civilization, and introducing a new one where everybody is going to be okay, everybody's going to be equal, everybody is going to have enough, a slice of the pie. So the lies that they tell, of course, you know, anybody who looks at history shows that every word is a lie, including. And in the. When the communists are talking, the. But the appeal is massive because of it. Also, I. A lot of people have a tendency, because they were indoctrinated. AJ Right. The ideas industry, that communism has never really been tried before. And this time it's going to work, AJ this time it's really going to work. [00:31:19] Speaker B: That's right. [00:31:20] Speaker C: In America, it's really going to work and we're going to do it and it's going to work well this time and everybody's going to be equal. Now, of course, the elites who. The Communist elite, the Leninist elite, don't believe a word of it ever. In terms of the ideology. They're in it for power. They're in it because it's going to destroy the order and it's going to allow them to remake a society that, you know, that allows them to be dominant. [00:31:46] Speaker B: It's antithetical, you know. Dr. Thayer. We're talking to Dr. Bradley Thayer. America's Hundred Years War. How to Win Against Communism. It's out now from Skyhorse. Go get two or three copies. Give it to your trans nieces and nephews. You know, communism is antithetical to human nature. Absolutely. You look at China like, I guess the question is, are they operating. Because you just kind of said it here. Are they operating under belief or a business model? Like, does she actually genuine, the ccp? Do they actually genuinely believe in Marxist Leninism? Or has communism become sort of the. It's just sort of the operating system there? Because it's. Because they've got all these, you know, millionaires and billionaires now, and they, you know, they want to. Yeah, they want to invest in movies and wineries and this and that, and they bring LeBron over and LeBron tours the gulags and all the rest of it. So, you know, do they actually believe. Believe this in the way that I think the KGB kind of believe? Like I, I always feel like. Because look, the Chinese are fakers on everything, on everything. Now, Mao might have believed it, but like, you go to China and you think you're buying salmon and you're really buying trash fish that has been dyed pink. Okay, that's what you're buying, believe me. Do they buy it? Is it re. Is it or is it just the business model at this point? [00:33:18] Speaker C: I think it's both. But it matters that Xi Jinping, I believe the communist dictator really believes it. He's. He's like Stalin. Stalin really believed right, in what he was doing. And, and he was truly a communist. And I think Xi Jinping is in that mo. Was as well. And Xi Jinping is in that mold. He's. His appeals to ideology, communist ideology is pretty stark. AJ he's saying, hey, look, we've got to get back to thinking like communists explicitly and enforcing communist orthodoxy in the party. And so Xi is a leader who models himself on Stalin. And we should really think of himself as a neo Stalinist leader. Takes the ideology very seriously. Now, of course, it also serves his purposes. He can use the ideology to get rid of his enemies just as he uses his anti corruption campaign. Well, everybody, the entire party is corrupt, right? By definition. So he's using the anti corruption campaign to get rid of his enemies and he's using his ideological campaign to do as well. But that does not mean he doesn't believe it. He truly does. I, I think this is a guy you. Though his father was purged by Mao, his father never gave up being a die hard communist. And I think that, wow, imagine that his son Xi Jinping believes it as well, his father. [00:34:43] Speaker B: It's like all the unfortunate Jewish voters that voted for mom, Donnie, you know, you know, there's nothing like voting for your own decapitation. Am I right, doctor? [00:34:53] Speaker C: That's. You've got to be realistic about your enemies. And if they're telling you that you're. They're your enemies, you've got to believe them. A.J. believe. [00:35:00] Speaker B: I'm gonna, I'm gonna ask you a serious question here. Dr. Thayer is not a medical doctor. He's a PhD. Communist regimes, historically, they've got, you know, they took themselves very seriously, okay? Always massive portraits, parades, slogans, five year plans, thousand year plans, heroic statues, ideological vocabulary, you know, you know, very well dressed. Most of these people, these are, you know, they, you know, Chanel made Hitler's uniforms for him. You got these dictators. You could start with Napoleon. You know, he got made fun of by some cartoonists. But you come forward to Hitler and Stalin and Lenin and you got Khrushchev banging the shoe. And, you know, with all these parades in these portraits, was this because most of these people had little penises? Tell the truth, doctor. Come on, tell the truth. There was some kind of. I mean, let's do a psychological evaluation of these people. I mean, they. Mussolini, I mean, these. El Duce, even Franco and some of these Salazar in Portugal. And some of these guys, right, they. They love this stuff. I mean, what, what, what is it? Are they not packing? Is that what's happening? [00:36:17] Speaker C: They do this because they're not legitimate. They know that their ideology is a lie. [00:36:22] Speaker B: Right. [00:36:22] Speaker C: And they are. They're. They realize that they are illegitimate. They never asked the Chinese people whether they should be in charge. Stalin put the Chinese Communist Party in power. Communists today, when they get the chance, are going to eliminate elections. [00:36:38] Speaker B: Sure. [00:36:39] Speaker C: De facto or day you're ascent. So, A.J. they're illegitimate. And because they're illegitimate, they have to have the large statues. They have to have the military parade. [00:36:49] Speaker B: Yes. [00:36:49] Speaker C: They have to show their strength, quote, unquote. Because they don't belong in power. They seize power and they're holding it by terror. At the end of the day, these guys are thugs who made it all up. It's just a lie. Lenin said what gave the Bolsheviks the right to rule was that they had a scientific understanding of society. Well, that's rubbish. You know that, that's. That's meaningless. He just made it up. [00:37:18] Speaker B: Sure. [00:37:19] Speaker C: And he's willing to use terror to keep himself in power. Okay. And if you do that, A.J. well, you're going to have to have the military parades and you're going to have to have the large statues and you're going to have to have a group think, you know, you're gonna have to police thought really aggressively. [00:37:38] Speaker B: And it's amazing. It's amazing. It's like, doesn't matter which civilization one of these, you know, dictators come from. Obviously we're focusing on communists, but like, if I think back to like Saddam, right, Or Gaddafi. Saddam. Saddam with the beret on and all the. All the stupid fake metals and his. His goofy sons, Uday and Kuse, and they got like the pet tiger and they're riding around in the Bentley and all the rest. This. This was how they showed strength. And obviously, once Saddam knew he was cook, he started like Wrapping himself up like an Islamist. I don't know whether you remember that he put on a different. He went from the old Nasser Gaddafi uniform and he put on the, you know, the. The Saudi Arabia uniform, right, to see if they would come save him. It's an amazing thing, you know. You know, that's why Putin walks around with no shirt on, right? So on the COVID of Men's Health, we're going to take a break here. America's Hundred Years War. How to win against communism. Dr. Bradley Thayer, my buddy. I think Bradley secretly knows where I was going with that question. Just remember, ladies and gentlemen, go to dangerouslaughter.com we believe in the equal distribution of mockery, including making jokes about the manhood of communist dictators. We will be back on the other side. [00:38:59] Speaker G: Women's rights champion Riley Gaines calls it a fierce defense of principle wrapped in humor from a satirist who dismantles the Trans Mafia's propaganda. Number one, Amazon best selling author AJ Rice completes the trilogy that started with the Walking Dead and the White Privilege album. The Curse of the Bearded Lady. How the Trans Mafia Whacked American Sanity, Volume 43 of Publius Pros, already a best seller. Get your copy today. Available everywhere books are sold. [00:39:46] Speaker A: And now please enjoy another elegant celebrity endorsement of dangerous laughter with A.J. rice. [00:39:53] Speaker H: Hey, how's it going? This is John Gruden, the old coach, just getting started here. It's an early morning in Las Vegas right now. The streets are quiet out there, but last night they were rocking. They were all talking about A.J. rice. A.J. rice is live. I love this guy, man. This is your moment right now. If you're gonna host your own podcast, you gotta be a nightmare for the opposing team. And I'm into nightmares. I mean, I want you to live rent free inside the enemy's head. Byob, Be your own blocker. Hustle, hustle, hustle. Rice, flip right double X jet 36, counter naked, Waglet seven X quarter. I mean, I want you to be a player, not a spectator. Rice. Let the competition come. Rice. Bring it on. Be the franchise quarterback, Rice. You got a motor, kid. Everybody sees it right now. Hit the gas and run these guys over. And don't forget Spider2y banana execution. Congratulations, you've been diagnosed with dangerous laughter. Now get out there and win. Love you, man. [00:41:11] Speaker A: This endorsement has been brought to you by collapsing standards everywhere. And now back to Dangerous Laughter. [00:41:19] Speaker G: The management of this station are clueless. [00:41:24] Speaker D: You're listening to dangerous laughter with AJ Rice on the Publius Media Network. [00:41:33] Speaker B: Back on the DL always remember, go to dangerouslafter.com humor is moral warfare by other means. And there are communists out there that they can't stand being made fun of. I, in my first book, and I've told you guys this, go get a copy of it. The Woking Dead. I wrote a whole section of it about the underground comedy clubs in Chavez and Maduro's Venezuela. And, and they were operating like speakeasy so that they could make fun of the regime. There's nothing more western than making fun of your leaders. It's what keeps us sane. And I believe it. It is an audit of society. So what we do is we bring brilliant people on this show like Dr. Bradley Thayer. And you have a rodeo clown, Irish Catholic, wise ass from Philadelphia, ask questions, right? So you got the court jester and you've got the serious character here, Brad. We've got a mayor in New York City that is blending Islamism with, I think you know, neo Communism, collectivism. And I have a small little cut here from his. When I read that he said this, I said there's no way. He just like hit it right on the nose. Chris is going to pull it up here in a second. But let me just, let me just say this is from Mayor Mom Donnie's inauguration this year, I guess in January. Right. So hit it, Chris. Here we go. Draw this city closer together. [00:43:06] Speaker D: We will replace the frigidity of rugged [00:43:09] Speaker B: individualism with the warmth of collectivism. The frigidity of rugged individualism. I guess you know, Mark Twain and Hemingway and Ronald Reagan and Jack London and Bret Hart and all the, I guess they, they, you know, Ted Williams, Andrew Jackson. Correct. Teddy Roosevelt, James Polk. Oh my God. I mean, I. So what do you think about that? He. He's naked. They're wearing it. They're proudly wearing it. They've got their basketball jersey on with Mal's face on it. Right? Right. [00:43:46] Speaker C: Yeah. Every time you see him, it's all agitation and propaganda, what we would call agit prop. Every word he speaks, the background, the images he tries to portray is false. It's a lie. And he recognizes that what he is doing is anti American and he doesn't care. Of course. That's the intent, A.J. the point is, as the Bolsheviks said, the worse, the better. The Bolsheviks worked to undermine Russia. They wanted the people to be immiserated. They wanted the government to fail. They wanted the Russian army to lose. The worse things were, the better. So when you see Mandami, you want to keep. Or any Democrat talking, you want to understand that they want things to be bad for the American people. They want to destroy America because their intent is a revolutionary one. To replace it and replace it with what they want again, which is anti American fundamentally. So whenever you see that guy, the human face of a very evil ideology, we want to recognize what he's doing and his sinister even though his words seemed honeyed. [00:45:03] Speaker I: Right. [00:45:03] Speaker C: We want to recognize this guy's a snake. [00:45:06] Speaker B: Sure. [00:45:06] Speaker C: And the venom that he has are his lies. And the fact that so many people voted for him as you referenced earlier AJ is is shocking. It really is stunning about how this guy got elected. But he did get elected and it's time for Republicans to step up to the plate here and start taking these guys on rather than just thinking it's a storm which is going to pass or the voters are going to get wise years down the future. The fight is today we're in a revolutionary time and we need to start acting like it on our side rather than just allowing him or you know, treating him essentially as a one off or a passing storm. It's not the temperature. [00:45:54] Speaker B: That's right. If we're not careful, we're in a Hundred Years War 1917-2026. If we're not careful we'll be in another hundred years against these people. There's one consistent thing since really the Bolsheviks showed up are these people failed ideology, failed regimes and yet there continues to be new sort of skulls full of mush every year that keep this stuff alive if they can just hang on long enough and deteriorate Western civilization from the inside. Americanism from the inside. I think the Republican party is aware, some of the Democrats are aware. But mostly, you know, there's guys out there like Fetterman Mansion, you know, Libraman Pro, if he was with us would probably be out there. But not many, you know, some of the tech bros that you know had their PR firm tell them to go woke and to go this way and go that way. I think some of them realize that they will be in the gulag with the rest of us, you know, you know, and obviously there's been moves that have been made like you know the purchasing of Paramount Pictures by the Oracle boys and, and obviously Musk's purchase of Twitter now X which was a digital jailbreak. Some of that helps fight back against propaganda if you listen to that cut. If you guys, if you know the Taylor Sheridan shows which is like Yellowstone and Tulsa, King and Landman and some of these shows, that's who Mamdani's talking about with the frigid individualism. He's talking about Rip and Beth. He's talking about Costner and Billy Bob Thornton's character and Stallone's characters. They can't stand that. They can't stand manifest destiny. They can't stand the Oregon Trail. They can't stand it. So let me ask you this. How did comedians and satirists fair in the Soviet Union under Mao with the Castro boys? How did they fare? What have you found? How long did they last? [00:48:25] Speaker C: You always had, of course, state comics, a guy like Stephen Colbert right on our side, you know, was going to give a party line joke and people will applaud where they should applaud, right in his audience. But in Those communist regimes, A.J. you actually had what the Soviets call samizdat, which means circulating illegally, circulating below. Sure, yeah, if you will. The party radar, you had very robust comedy and folks understood what was happening and joked about it. Now, a joke could get you killed. Right. A joke could get you betrayed. As of course, Solzhenitsyn put a line in a letter home to his wife that was picked up and put him in the gulag over one line in a letter to his wife that was read by the Soviet secret police. So the risks were very high. But they understood, folks understood the Soviet Union was a lie. And folks in China today recognize that the Chinese Communist Party is just a, a massive ball of corruption and lies. So jokes, still, the human spirit is very difficult to eradicate. They're going to do their best to do it, sure. But it's very. They can't keep jokes from circulating, undermine their legitimacy. And they understand, AJ the importance of jokes and humor, which is why they go after it and they want to keep, yes, comedy along the lines of Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel. [00:49:53] Speaker B: And Colbert is now doing some public access television show in Michigan right after Wayne's World. I guess he's back where he belongs there on the Michigan public dole. And it sounds like Kimmel. Disney has had enough of Jimmy Kimmel and he will be making his exit soon. That's why I think humor is counter revolutionary. [00:50:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:50:19] Speaker B: And, and you know, the, the problem with, with these, you know, these guys and, and is that if there is a sacred cow, you have to slay it. And it doesn't matter which, where, which party it belongs to. I mean, Ricky Gervais makes fun of everybody. Chappelle makes fun of everybody. But you have, you know, some guys out there, Stephen A. Smith in sports and then obviously Bill Maher, who You know, given the day, I might not, I might disagree with him. He had a recent hot take on the dsa. Chris, let's grab that cut and let's, let's watch. [00:50:57] Speaker I: Trump has told 1 trillion lies, but when he says the Democratic Socialists of America are actually communist, that's not one of them. And it's not hard to prove it just by quoting the DSA and their candidates. Davey Vance was on the show and I told him that if the Democratic Party keeps going in the direction, direction of the dsa, my vote was in play. And all I heard all vacation was, oh my God, you're a Republican now. No, that's not what I said. I said in play and here's why. Because not a week goes by where I don't read about some newly chosen, exciting new face in the Democratic Party. And then when that face opens its mouth, the Communist Manifesto or some other crazy crazy comes out. [00:51:44] Speaker B: That's right. That's right. So that's laughter as an insurgency against the DSA and more. Look, mars, not Ronald Reagan. He's, you know, he, he busts Trump's balls and all the rest of it. But, but if, if it comes down to he at least knows, just like the tech bros, that he'll be in the jail cell next to you and me if they have their way. [00:52:07] Speaker C: Yes. Yeah, I, it took him a long time to realize what was obvious to the rest of us. Sure. In terms of the direction of the Democratic Party for many decades. But it's a positive sign that finally Bill Maher was not beyond the long arm of essentially reason. Finally that long arm got him and was able to touch him and bring him to some type of, you know, recognition of, of reality. [00:52:38] Speaker A: Sure. [00:52:39] Speaker C: A.J. we want to recognize too, the DSA is just a front organization. Right. It's the, the Leninists in the Democratic Party who are the key actors here and who are driving it. The DSA serves some purposes for them, but at the end of the day that's just essentially a group, a political front organization for, for the Democrats which justifies their ever drift leftward. [00:53:08] Speaker B: Sure, absolutely. And I've got something here in my hands that I can't believe is not, and I'm sure you came across it, it's, I can't believe this wasn't leading every single newscast in the world. It's another example of us just allowing, I guess, our own system to abuse us from the inside in, in another episode here of a guide to deporting your neighbor. Daily caller piece, CCP intelligence official buys building 650ft from the White House. So why. Look, there's. There's. She. Okay, what the hell are we doing exactly here? What? So they're, you know, Mal's moving in, moving on up. Like the Jeffersons. Like the CCP Jeffersons. They're moving in. Across the street, a senior Chinese intelligence official is the new owner of a historic building overlooking the White House complex. Well, that seems smart. All the ink spilled on the book depository, and we got this freaking guy across the street. Bradley, give it to me. What the hell's happening here? [00:54:21] Speaker C: Yeah, or the new Chinese Embassy in London, which just happens to be able to intercept all the communications of the. Of the British government and of the City of London, of course, for finance. So, you know, they got these guys, you know, location, location, location is the rule of real estate. And it is for espionage. [00:54:40] Speaker B: You ain't kidding, right? [00:54:42] Speaker C: So, you know, they know where, what they need to seize to be able to collect intel on obviously the highest levels of the US Government. So why aren't we in arms about this? [00:54:56] Speaker B: And my, my producer Chris is reminding me. I, I burrowed in the story there that this guy is also was a sniper. He was a top notch sniper. He's like a CCP sniper. So that's great. 650ft. [00:55:11] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:55:12] Speaker B: You know, I wonder if they have any slanted roofs there for the, for the freaking Secret Service to check on. I mean, are you kidding me? I mean, we're. We are out of our freaking minds. The fact that this isn't that, you know, the federal government didn't take a bunch of bull, just bulldoze this or don't let it happen. I mean, there's only so many buildings there around Lafayette Square. [00:55:33] Speaker C: Exactly. And. And it, you know, it's critical. The Chinese are buying up our farmland. They're buying land near military bases. They're buying lands near strategic. No, like the White House. And we're not doing anything about it. Aj. [00:55:48] Speaker B: Yeah, we got the Belt and Road program going on, going on across the street from the White House. [00:55:53] Speaker C: It's about, you know, it's about, my God, the seriousness of the threat and acted accordingly. Like our, our fathers, our grandfathers, our great grandfathers did during the Cold War and before. Who knew what a threat was and acted responsibly to address it. Aj, we're just out, you know, we're refusing to see. Yeah, I think that's an interesting question. Why? We refuse to see the nature and the depth of the threat. And I, I would have to say that too many Republicans, again, are going to be weak on this issue, either because they're sympathetic or because they're captured. [00:56:34] Speaker B: Well, I mean, I got a million stories about Rosie o' Donnell filling in for Jimmy Kimmel, which, you know, this is dangerous. LAUGHTER I like to bust her her lesbian stones. But, but the reality is how many stories on the sniper buying the property across from the white CCP sniper? I mean, it's just, it's just nuts. So, guys, we gotta this is the book here. America's 100 Years War. It's behind him as well. On the screen, I ask, I ask almost every author this. What is the section of the book that interviewers like me and many others that you want to be asked about that no one's asking about? [00:57:14] Speaker C: Well, there's so much of the book. But what I would touch on is really two. AJ I'm going to answer that with two. One is okay. Orwell wrote Orwell had Winston Smith, the protagonist in 1984. [00:57:28] Speaker F: Right. [00:57:28] Speaker C: Say he understood how the Party operated, but he didn't understand why the Party was doing what he was doing. And that's a critical question. Why are Communists so evil? And we, we touched on that a little today very helpfully. Second thing is the American Spirit. The book also has a good a chapter on Americanism and what Americanism means. The American national identity. [00:57:55] Speaker B: Right. [00:57:56] Speaker C: And American national identity is rooted, of course, in the fact we have a spirit. We, we are a unique place. We are unique people at a unique time. We have a unique political ideology and that's folded into Western civilization. And these things give us the antidote to communism. So embracing Americanism, again, is absolutely essential because the stronger American identity is the weaker Communism, which is why they attack American identity with constantly. Likewise, the stronger Communism, AJ the weaker American identity. Why do we see this erosion? Because the Communists are assaulting what they know to be, if you will, the cement that holds Americans together and has for, for since 1776. [00:58:47] Speaker B: Sure. [00:58:48] Speaker C: So that's a very important part of the book as well. The antidote. [00:58:53] Speaker B: Yes, absolutely. America's Hundred Years War, how to Win Against Communism by Dr. Bradley Thayer, forward by Steve Bannon. Shout out the Skyhorse and War Room books for putting this out. He got a blurb from our buddy Bill Gertz. So tell the audience. Not many Communists in our audience, but there might be a few. You know, they're here to find out what you and I are up to. Tell the audience where they can find you. You know, where you'll, you know, where you write Your websites, you know, hit us with it. Sure. [00:59:25] Speaker C: Folks can go to BradleyThayer.com, which is my website, or find me on X at Brad Thayer, or get our truthadley Thayer. All good places to find me. And my writings appear typically. Epic Times. American Greatness and American Mind. American thinker. [00:59:44] Speaker B: He's got a great. A great piece in the Washington Times recently about why Taiwan matters, which I've got here in front of me. Brad, I really appreciate you coming on. I want everyone to go out there. Look, we don't want to be at this again 100 years from now when, you know, Brad and I are no longer in our human bodies. We're in. We're in Android bodies that Elon made, okay? We're just. We get our consciousness transformed into a robot there. [01:00:12] Speaker F: We. [01:00:13] Speaker B: We have to push back. Midterm elections. Huge. Next presidential election's huge. There's waves of these people. They're going to keep coming. They are financed, but they're not new. This has been set into motion going from 1917 all the way to today. They have. They're like an STD that flares up. They flare up like a fever blister. Like herpes, you know, which I think describes, you know, most of the dsa. They're America's herpes. So go get the book. America's Hundred Years War, how to Win Against Communism. Brad, thanks for coming on, sir. [01:00:50] Speaker C: A.J. it was my pleasure to join you. [01:00:52] Speaker B: Never forget. Absolutely, sir. Never forget. Ladies and gentlemen, comedy is our civic duty. We believe in the equal distribution of mockery. And go get Bradley's book. And always remember, ladies and gentlemen, stay dangerous. [01:01:10] Speaker A: Dangerous. Left. Laughter. Dangerous. Danger. Left her. Dangerous. Laughter. Danger. Laughter.
